Samples of Sites Built by Websites by KTS

Hopefully it’s obvious that the site you’re on right now is the first one to look at!

Below are screenshots of other sites I’ve built and links to them.  Most of the screenshots do not include the entire page, but you can see it easily by visiting the site.  Some of the sites were built as samples, rather than directly for a client.  The sample sites will not be fully functional or be fully populated.  They represent what can be done and what you could get for your business, personal site, or organization site.  Not all pages of each site are shown. Some screenshots show the middle of the page, so the header is not seen.

Van Cortlandt Jewish Center

Fleetwood Synagogue

This was an established site that needed restructuring and many new pages.  Websites by KTS built several new pages, restructured the site to use them, and removed obsolete or undesired pages from the public’s view. The content was provided by Fleetwood Synagogue and available through a design document that was modified with suggestions from Jack Kleinfeld. The resulting site has at least 20 pages, many of them new, and all of them in a more logical menu structure. Two of the top level menu items were set up as custom entries and do not represent pages.  Instead, they categorize the pages that fold down from them. This prevents the visitor from inadvertently not visiting what would otherwise be the page in the top level menu.

The work was undertaken and completed under a time constraint.

A few months after this work was completed, I was retained as their full time webmaster with responsibility to maintain the site, upload new content, and implement a list of site improvements that I provided.

Van Dale Motors, Inc. -- A Static Site

This is a small website built for an auto service station.

Because the content is not expected to change with any regularity, it was an ideal candidate for a static site instead of a WordPress site.

The advantages of using a static site, where it is appropriate, is that it does not need regular maintenance, it is more secure, and it generally loads much faster. If you think you need a static site, contact me to get it!

As of May 2021, the site appears to be closed.

Entry Scan IR

This website was built to address the needs for fever screening at the entry to business locations because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I was given only an overview of needs and a list of pages that were needed.  I developed the pages and preliminary content.  I also conceived and developed the interactive graphic on the Why not do it yourself? page.

Electriscan

This is the second site I have built for Stockton Thermal Infrared Services, Inc.  The Entry Scan IR site above is for the same internationally known thermal infrared services company.

Both sites were built using the Brizy Page Builder in WordPress, giving the opportunity to have a uniform appearance across all pages of each site.

The site brings together more than one older site and makes them responsive, easy to navigate, and more attractive.

Aoraki Analysis

The Aoraki Analysis site had crashed at least once and been restored by the hosting company when I was engaged to fix it.  The restored site was not complete.  For example, its menus were missing.  However, the content and images were available.

I rebuilt the site from scratch using the available assets.  I also made significant improvements to the organization of the site so that it works better for the business goals.

Encore Fabrics - a site with custom fields and templates

Encore Fabrics is a wholesale fabric company.  The site showcases their full range of fabrics.  Through the use of custom fields and custom built templates, it allows visitors to get an overview of each of the available fabrics through the main pages and then get additional information through category and tag based searches.  The searches bring up Single Fabric (or Dedicated) pages and compiled results showing which fabrics offer a selected color or are best suited for a visitor’s particular use case. The Our Fabrics page provides thumbnails and a lightbox view of the color cards for each fabric.

The headings for each of the main pages were customized in terms of color combinations and the selected image.

BxNSPE - Rebuild of the Bronx Chapter of NYSSPE/NSPE website

I initially built a simple site for BxNSPE.org many years ago.  More recently, although now several years ago, I supervised an outside provider in building a new site based on WordPress.  I have now rebuilt that site with many changes and some simplification, but still in WordPress.  The screen capture images here are of the rebuild that I did.  The images of the longer pages have been truncated to enable processing for the gallery.

TZAIChE - Rebuild of the Tappan Zee Section of AIChE website

I initially built a simple site for TZAIChE.org many years ago.  More recently, although now several years ago, I supervised an outside provider in building a new site based on WordPress.  I have now rebuilt that site with many changes and some simplification, but still in WordPress.  The screen capture images here are of the rebuild that I did. Among the capabilities added are an active blog with posts showing as per their categories, and video recordings of our meetings.  The images of the longer pages have been truncated to enable processing for the gallery.

I also produced the short animated video on the About page (third image).

Bono Pros - a sample site for Pro Bono lawyers

I built this sample website to examine how a site intended to help lawyers find specialized pro bono work might be configured.  Its layout works well, but it is not fully functional and does not have all the forms and text that a completed active site would have. It would have a search function to find a lawyer and registration/membership functionality for both lawyers and organizations that provide pro bono services.

Joe's Auto Service - a sample site for local business, particularly for an auto service station

I built this sample website as a demonstration of what a simple website could look like for a local business.  It’s designed with multiple pages for the topics that are covered, although these could be configured for a long single page site.  Fancy graphics and effects are not included for simplicity’s sake. Comments in red on a gray background are instructional and would not be part of an actual site.

It’s built as though for an automotive service station called Joe’s Auto Service (fictional).

Contact forms and email were deliberately not included, since many business would not want them.  Obviously they could be added.

This site would be a candidate for conversion to a static site that would use fewer resources and be faster.

Geshmake Fish - a sample site for a retail fish store

I built this sample website in preparation for working with a client.  It includes ecommerce, allowing orders to be placed and paid for.  It could also allow orders to be marked for local pickup or set for delivery. As a sample, it is not fully functional and does not have the actual images that would be used.

General IR - A fictitious United Infrared Affiliate sample site

I built this sample website in preparation for working with a client.  It provides information about the company, which provides thermal infrared (IR) imaging services.  It includes places for information about IR and its applications, which have already been organized, but not populated.    As a sample, it is not fully functional and does not have the actual images that would be used.

VCJC - Israel, a one page site to direct donors wishing to support Israel after the Hamas attack of Oct. 7, 2023

This is a one page site built outside of WordPress.  It informs the visitor of an option for donating to support Israel and has Donate Now buttons that take the visitor to the UJA Federation site.

It was build for the Van Cortlandt Jewish Center.

It was started from a template and customized.  The header is a 4 image slider set to automatic change.
